Dewayne R. Simpson July 19, 1928 - April 26, 2009
CKARKFIELD -- Dewayne Raymond Simpson, 80, of Clarkfield died Sunday at St. Cloud Hospital.
The service will be at 1:30 p.m. today at Clarkfield Lutheran Church in Clarkfield. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church. Lynner Funeral Home of Clarkfield is handling arrangements.
He was born July 19, 1928, in Grant County, S.D., to Raymond and Agnetta (Lindberg) Simpson. He graduated in 1947 from Vocational High School in Minneapolis. After graduation, he attended Dunwoody Institute and was then drafted into the U.S. Army in 1950. He was medically discharged in 1951.
He married Eunice Halverson on March 16, 1951, in Clarkfield. They operated the Corner Store in Clarkfield until 1955. They then moved to Minneapolis where he was employed at Thermo King and later at Sears Roebuck as a warehouse supervisor. Eunice died in a motor vehicle accident in 1983. He then lived in Forest Lake. He married Blanche Lynne in October 1987 and returned to Clarkfield.
He is survived by his wife; children: Wayne of Isle, and Paula (and Tony) Thompson of LaQuinta, Calif.; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife and one brother.
