Dianne A. Kavanagh, age 71 of Maple Plain, passed away Sunday, August 24, 2014 after a courageous battle with cancer. A kind and gentle soul, she took this ailment with a smile up until the end. "What is, is". Dianne was born December 9, 1942 in Willmar, Minnesota to Roy and Arlene (McCleary) Simenson.

Dianne grew up on a farm, the youngest of 6 children. She loved gardening, traveling and spending time with the grandchildren. She always had a witty comment and supportive of friends by stating "Thank you for being my friend". Dianne led us on a very sacred journey which her entire family was together in on during her illness these last 4 months. She had the gift of bringing her entire family closer.

Dianne was proceeded in death by her parents, sister Wanda Naas, brother Larry Simenson, brother-in-law George Welsh and niece Jojean Wolfgram. She is survived by her daughters Shawntel (Kavanagh) Danielson and Stacie Kavanagh, grandchildren Weslee Kavanagh, Dalton and Shaley Danielson, sister Donna Welsh, brothers Lyle (Sandy) Simenson and Dellis (Bonnie) Simenson and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Thursday, August 28, 2014 at St. Peter Catholic Church, Delano. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at Martha's Hall of St. Peter Catholic Church, Delano. Visitation is continued Thursday, 10-11 A.M. prior to the Mass at Martha's Hall of St. Peter Catholic Church, Delano. Interment will be 3 p.m. at the Cloverleaf Cemetery, Willmar.
