Bergquist said 43-year-old Craig Glock of Dilworth died at 6:04 p.m. Thursday at MeritCare Hospital in Fargo. An autopsy will be performed.

The Sheriff's Department received a call about a possible dead person about 8:45 a.m. Thursday, and deputies found Glock's vehicle in a ditch in the 6300 block of 28th Street North.

Glock's limbs appeared to be frozen solid and his heartbeat was nearly undetectable, Bergquist said.

Because of his condition, Glock was unable to talk to investigators, and he never regained consciousness, Bergquist said.

He said it appeared Glock's vehicle had driven straight off the road into the ditch. Bergquist doesn't know how long the vehicle was stuck in the snow.

The temperature in the Fargo-Moorhead area was about 8 degrees just before midnight Wednesday, said Tom Grafenauer, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Grand Forks, N.D.

The area's low temperature for the night - 1 below - was registered between 6 and 7 a.m., Grafenauer said.

The temperature was 2 degrees above at 9 a.m., he said.
