Disaster center set up in Wadena after June 17 tornado

ST. PAUL, Minn. -- The state is setting up a disaster recovery center to help those in Wadena and Otter Tail counties who were struck by recent storms.

The Minnesota Department of Public Safety Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management says the center will open Friday, starting at 1 p.m.

Residents and businesses affected by the June 17 tornado can go to the center for answers about uninsured losses. Representatives from the state will help with information on housing, unemployment, farm advocacy or other issues.

The center will bet the National Guard Armory in Wadena. It'll operate on Friday from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m., and Saturday, Sunday and Monday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
