n Thomas John Skaggs, 25, of Willmar, pleaded guilty Monday to felony charge of fifth-degree controlled substance crime.
He will be sentenced March 9.
As part of a plea agreement, he will receive a stay of adjudication. Under a stay of adjudication, a conviction may be removed from a person's criminal record if the person complies with sentencing conditions.
The charges were filed after CEE-VI Drug Task Force agents executed a search warrant on the Skagg's home on April 18. They found marijuana in the bedroom and living room, plus digital scales and plastic bags. The agents also collected large amounts of currency from around the home, totaling $4,240. The drugs tested positive as marijuana and had an approximate weight of 497 grams.
- Shawn Patrick Labat, 26, of Hutchinson, made his first appearance Monday on a felony charge of making terroristic threats for threatening another man.
Unconditional bail was set at $25,000. Conditional release was allowed on his personal recognizance.
According to the complaint, the Kandiyohi County Sheriff's office was called to investigate threatening phone messages against a man on Dec. 27. The man said he received a series of text messages from a person who was later identified as Labat. It was determined that the man was dating a woman that Labat had also dated The messages included a voice mail during which Labat allegedly threatened to kill the man.
In an interview, Labat allegedly admitted to making the messages and said he was fed up with the man harassing his girlfriend.
