Dog missing after fatal Christmas Eve crash south of Willmar, Minn.

WILLMAR -- A dog that was riding in one of the four vehicles involved in a fatal Christmas Eve crash south of Willmar has been reported missing.

According to the Humane Society of Kandiyohi and Meeker Counties, the animal was frightened and ran off. He has been spotted at least once near the intersection of Highways 7 and 71, where the crash occurred.

The dog is a medium-size black and gray male Schnauzer mix named Lord. He is wearing a collar and tags.

Anyone who sees him or has more information on his whereabouts is asked to call the Hawk Creek Animal Shelter at 320-235-7612.

Justin Gustafson, 29, of Redwood Falls died in the multi-vehicle crash on Saturday when another vehicle reportedly failed to stop at a red light at the intersection, 10 miles south of Willmar. Six other people were injured, one critically.
