Dog still missing after fatal crash Dec. 24 south of Willmar, Minn.
WILLMAR -- Nearly two weeks after a fatal Christmas Eve crash south of Willmar, a dog that was riding in one of the vehicles remains missing.
The Schnauzer mix named Lord escaped from the crash scene at the junction of Highways 71 and 7.
He has been spotted a handful of times in the Blomkest area. The most recent sighting was by a school bus driver, who reported seeing the dog Wednesday in the area of Kandiyohi County Roads 16 and 44, southwest of Big Kandiyohi Lake.
Search parties have been combing the area daily for the missing dog. He is black and gray and wearing a collar and tags. His companion dog, Lady, was unhurt in the crash and is being cared for at Fancy Coats Grooming and Pet Inn in Kandiyohi.
Anyone with information about Lord's whereabouts is asked to call the Hawk Creek Animal Shelter in Willmar at 235-7612.
