Donald D. 'Pete' Hagen March 31, 1931 - March 26, 2009
BELGRADE -- Donald D. 'Pete' Hagen, 77, of Belgrade, died Thursday at Paynesville Area Hospital.
The service will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Grace Lutheran Church in Belgrade. Burial will be at the Grace Lutheran West Cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
He was born on March 31, 1931, in Belgrade to Arthur and Clara (Hamborg) Hagen. The family lived in the Belgrade area He attended the Georgeville country school.
He worked for Duininck Brothers and Gilchrist, in Prinsburg for several years. From 1952 to 1954, he served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He married Marilyn Hald on Jan. 11, 1956. He continued his employment with Duininck Brothers as a road crew foreman for a total of 40 years, retiring in 1990 due to health reasons.
He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and a life member of VFW Post 1825.
He is survived by his wife; children: Patricia Wold of Willmar, Bradley Hagen of Moose Lake and Brian Hagen of San Jose, Calif; three grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by five brothers and one sister.
