Donald F. Fauskee May 4, 1929 - April 9, 2013
BROOTEN - Donald F Fauskee, 83 of Brooten died Tuesday at Glacial Ridge Hospital in Glenwood. A gathering of remembrance will be held on Sunday, April 14th at the Ka-De-Shack from 2-5 pm.
Donald Francis was born in North Fork Township, Belgrade, on May 4, 1929, to Albert and Marie (Thompson) Fauskee. He was baptized and confirmed at Big Grove Luthern Church. He graduated from Brooten High School in 1947 with the honor of being the 1st Homecoming King.
After graduation Donald moved to Plymouth where he was employed by Coast to Coast for 25 years. Donald moved back to Brooten in 1977 and started Fauskee Septic Pump, for septic clean-up. He also drove gas truck for Fauskee Oil Company for many years.
Donald was united in marriage to Alice Gruis in September 14, 1984 in Redwood Falls.
Donald loved the outdoors, time spent hunting, fishing or just watching the birds. He loved a good visit from family & friends, or a quick drive into town for coffee. And was famous for his pickled fish, but don't ask him for the recipe.
Donald is survived by his wife of 28 years, Alice of Brooten; his six children; Terry (John) Fauskee of Edina, Gordon (Pam) Fauskee of Cambridge, Cindy Fauskee of Eden Prairie, Wanda (Ross) Anderson of Elk River, Scott Fauskee of Coon Rapids, and Tom (Gretchen) Fauskee of Willmar; four step-children; Mickey (Doris) Gruis of Zimmerman, Lori Struckman of Minneapolis, Brian (Pat) Gruis of Emily and Tracy Gruis of Crystal; 11 grandchildren; 6 step-grandchildren; 3 step-great-grandchildren; two sisters; Gloria Thronrud of Ortonville and Joanne (Orville) Schneewind of Minnetonka and one brother Waldo (Connie) Fauskee of Brooten.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert & Marie, and his brothers Dale & Abner; his nephew Gary Fauskee.
