Deaths ruled homicides: Grandson of Paynesville couple arrested for murder

MONTEVIDEO - Donna Blahosky age 73 of Montevideo passed away Monday morning at the Chippewa County-Montevideo Hospital. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Friday February 28th at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Montevideo. There will be a time for lunch and fellowship at the Montevideo American Legion immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the Salvation Army. Arrangements are with the Wing-Bain Funeral Home of Montevideo.

Donna LaDean Blahosky was born July 19, 1940 in Odessa, Minnesota the daughter of John and Sophie (Madetzke) Schulte. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith attending St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Bellingham. Donna grew up in Bellingham and attended high school there through her junior year. She transferred to Starbuck High School and graduated with the Class of 1958. On December 28, 1958 she was united in marriage to Paul Blahosky at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Bellingham. Their union was blessed with three children. Donna worked as a bookkeeper for Montevideo Metal & Manufacturing and later worked at KMGM in sales and management. She later started "The Sunshine Basket", a community greeting service. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Montevideo Chamber of Commerce and active with the Mrs. Jaycees. Donna loved to dance, play golf and enjoyed playing cards with family and friends. She was a devoted wife and loving mother who liked to spend time with friends and loved spending time with her family. Donna is survived by Paul, her husband of 55 years; their children: Cara (Larry) Ledwith of Vancouver, Washington; Lisa Patton of Eden Prairie; Craig Blahosky of Buffalo Grove, Illinois; grandson: Cade Ledwith of Vancouver, Washington; brother: Eugene (Margaret) Schulte of Appleton; sisters: Adeline (Gerald) Leland of Bricelynd; Virginia (George) Novak of Appleton; Janice (Mario) Comelio of Huntington, New York; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents: John and Sophie; brothers: Hilbert, Robert, and Wallace; sisters: Jeanette Swanson, Irene Stock, and Alice Pansch.
