Donna M. Stien Sept. 23, 1934 - Sept. 8, 2009
WILLMAR -- Donna Mae Stien, 74, of Willmar died Tuesday at St. Cloud Hospital.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Vinje Lutheran Church with burial at Cloverleaf Cemetery.
Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are with Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar.
She was born Sept. 23, 1934, to Leo and Rose (Ferry) Baker. She grew up in Willmar and attended school there.
She married Raymond Stien on Aug. 5, 1951, in Casita, Ga. They lived in Willmar and she worked at several cafes and also for Jennie-O Farms, retiring in the 1980s. She was a member of Vinje Lutheran where she was a member of the church women, serving groups and the altar guild. As a young woman, she was the Lux's Soap Beauty Queen for Minnesota. She was a member of TOPS and Weight Watchers.
She is survived by her children: Michael Stien of Topanga, Calif., Daniel (and Mary) Stien of Lake Lillian, Kathleen (and Jerry) Goosmann of Spicer, LeAnne (and Mark) Nelson of Willmar, Dawn (and Craig) Marks of Wells, Linda (and Gary) Phillips of West Salem, Wis., and Stacy Stien (and Dan Schafer) of Lake Lillian; 23 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; sister: Barbara Sloboda of Manchester, N.H. and step-sister: Cathy McKenzie of Litchfield.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 2005; infant son: Patrick; and son-in-law: Jerry Kruger.
