Donna R. Wersal Jan. 4, 1928 - Dec. 9, 2008
ATWATER -- Donna R. Wersal, 80, of Atwater died unexpectedly Tuesday at her home.
The service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. John's Catholic Church in Hector. Burial will be in the Hector City Cemetery.
Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are by the Atwater Funeral Home.
She was born Jan. 4, 1928, near Avon to Albinus and Margaret (Meyer) Bohmer. She grew up and went to school in Avon. She graduated from St. Cloud Tech High School and received her teacher training at Mankato State University. She taught in a country school north of Cosmos and then in Lake Lillian for many years.
She married Ivan Wersal on June 11, 1955. They lived and farmed in Hector and Bird Island. She was a homemaker, worked at Fingerhut in Bird Island and worked for 18 years at 3M in Hutchinson, retiring in 1988.
She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church and was active in various church women's groups and her neighborhood extension club. She and Ivan spent many winters in Arizona.
She is survived by her husband; children: Deborah (and Steven) Ulrich of Hutchinson, Daniel (and Shelly) Wersal of Richfield, Glenn (and Catherine) Wersal of Bird Island, Roger (and Laurie) Wersal of Hutchinson and Sandra Wersal of Elk River; seven grandchildren; one great-grandson; and sisters: Pearl Kieser of Winsted, Veronica O'Connell of St. Paul, Tenny (and Leonard) Raschke of Woodbury and Loni Katzner of Albany.
She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, a brother and three sisters.
