OLIVIA - Dorothy Fullerton, age 86, of Olivia, died Thursday, April 25, 2013 at Hidden Creek Assisted Living in Chaska. Mass of Christian Burial is Tuesday 10:30 a.m. at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Olivia with Rev. Paul van de Crommert as celebrant. Burial is in the church cemetery. Visitation is Monday 5-8 p.m. at Dirks-Blem Funeral Home in Olivia with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation continues Tuesday at the funeral home from 9:15-10:15 a.m.

Dorothy Wilhelmina Fullerton, born February 2, 1927 in Kingman Township, rural Olivia, MN to Emil J. and Emma (Brtek) Karnik. She grew up on the family farm and attended country school. On June 17, 1950 she married Donald Fullerton at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Olivia. They made their home on the farm for five years and then moved into town where she resided until 2007 when she moved to Hidden Creek Assisted Living in Chaska. Dorothy was a lifelong member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church where she was active in the CCW. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, the Minnesota Rural Letter Carrier Auxiliary, and the Catholic Order of Foresters. Dorothy had enjoyed gardening, baking, making wedding cakes, doing embroidery, and spending time with her family.

Dorothy is survived by her four children: Linda (and Kenneth) Buchal of St. Paul, Carol Leverson of Bloomington, Delores (and Paul) Beussman of Shakopee and Marsha (and Curtis) Schmidt of Danube; her eight grandchildren: Michael (and Amy) Buchal, Karen (and Jim) Doherty, Robin (and John) Kissock, Jason (and Kristin) Beussman, Adam Beussman, Samuel Schmidt, Tabitha Schmidt and Cameron Schmidt; her six great-grandchildren: Henry and Page Buchal, Michelle Dunning, Emma Kissock and Alex and Madison Biegert; her sister, Lillian (and Dwain) Ahlbrecht of Hector; her sister-in-law Marie Karnik of North Mankato; and many nieces and nephews. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Donald Fullerton, her son Paul Fullerton and her three siblings: Emil Karnik, Blanche Karnik and George Karnik.
