WILLMAR - Dorothy Lippert, age 75, of Willmar, formerly of Blomkest, died Monday, January 7, 2013 at Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar. Mass of Christian Burial is Friday 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Willmar with Rev. Steve Verhelst as celebrant. Visitation is on Friday at the church for one hour prior to the service. Burial is in St. Aloysius Cemetery in Olivia at approximately 2:30 p.m. Arrangements are with Dirks-Blem Funeral Service of Olivia. Memorials preferred to Rice Cancer Center and Rice Hospice.

Dorothy Ann Lippert was born March 24, 1937 on the family farm in Bird Island Township, Renville County, MN to John and Mathilda (Pieporka) Eiler. She grew up at Bird Island and graduated from St. Mary's High School in 1955. Dorothy worked for Northwestern Bell in Minneapolis, Dr. J.A. Cosgriff in Olivia, and the Bird Island Creamery prior to her marriage. On November 23, 1957 she married Roger Charles Lippert at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bird Island and they made their home at rural Blomkest. Roger and Dorothy were blessed with five sons, Douglas, Bradley, Daniel, Brian, and Dean. Dorothy was a homemaker most of her life and then worked as a cashier at Super America Convenience Store in Willmar from 1987-1993. Dorothy and Roger built a home and retired to Willmar in 1990. She enjoyed baking, cooking, gardening, playing cards, and bowling. Dorothy loved spending time with her family, grandchildren, friends, and just being with people in general. She had embroidered hundreds of dish towels for St. Mary's Fall Bazaar and had crocheted afghans for each of her children and grandchildren. Dorothy had enjoyed singing and was a member of the choir when they attended St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Olivia and while a member at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Willmar she sang in the funeral choir and was also a lay distributor of Communion.

Dorothy is survived by her husband Roger Lippert of Willmar; their five sons: Doug (and Vicki) of Blomkest, Brad (and Karen) Of Ellsworth, WI, Dan (and Betsy) of Willmar, Brian of Willmar, and Dean (and Tracey) of Blomkest; her seven granddaughters: Amy, Tonya, Amber, Rebecca, Ashley, Kelly and Hannah; her two grandsons: Ben and Seth; her great-granddaughter Elizabeth; her great-grandson Levi; her brother Dick (and Norma) Eiler of Bird Island; and her two sisters: Elaine (and Frank) Lindell of Cold Spring and Florence (and Merton) Gustad of New Ulm. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Bob Eiler.
