ROCHESTER -- Douglas Henry Oslund, 77, of Rochester, died Tuesday at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester.

The service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Rochester. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home, with an Elks rest service at 6 p.m., and for one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials are preferred to Mayo Clinic for Children's Epilepsy.

He was born Dec. 16, 1931, in rural Bird Island to Clifford and Lorraine (Weis) Oslund. He graduated from St. Mary's High School in Bird Island. Following four years in the Navy, he joined IBM.

He married Rita Hayes on June 19, 1955, in Binghamton, N.Y. He worked for IBM for 37 years and retired in 1991. He had currently been working as a driver for Auto Finance.

He was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church, Rochester American Legion and Rochester Elks Club.

He is survived by his wife; three sons: Mark (and Suzy) Oslund of Anchorage, Alaska, Matt Oslund of West Minster, Colo., and Mitch (and Kathy) Oslund of Onalaska, Wis.; three daughters: Marlene Oslund of Rochester, Marleeta (and Guy) Mertz of Longmont, Colo., and Nadine Oslund of Rochester; four grandchildren; a brother: Larry Oslund of New Ulm; and three sisters; Mavis Jorgenson of Bird Island, LuAnn (and Dick) Billmeier of Wright and Judy Sheehan of Bird Island.

He was preceded in death by one brother.
