Downed wire halts light-rail service in Minneapolis

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- Light-rail trains are running again in downtown Minneapolis after a downed wire knocked out service for four hours.

The wire powers the trains from overhead. Metro Transit spokesman Bob Gibbons says the 750-volt wire broke soon after 10 a.m. today at the station near the Metrodome. He tells the Star Tribune that no one was hurt and there was no fire.

WCCO-AM reports service was restored about 2 p.m.
