Downtown Willmar, Minn., historic district walk rescheduled to Aug. 9

WILLMAR -- The walk through downtown Willmar that had been scheduled for Friday afternoon as part of a historic district feasibility study has been rescheduled to next week at the request of the consultant doing the study, according to a Willmar Design Center spokesperson.

The walk has been rescheduled to 1 p.m. Aug. 9. at the request of historian Daniel Hoisington of Hoisington Preservation Consultants of Roseville.

Hoisington was hired with a $7,000 state Legacy grant obtained by the Design Center's Preservation and Design Standards Committee.

As part of the study, Hoisington will walk through downtown to gauge the historical significance and integrity of older buildings in the central business district.

The public is invited.
