Downtown Willmar, Minn., improvement meetings continue today

WILLMAR -- Representatives of the city of Willmar and the Willmar Design Center will meet with African and Latino business owners today in the second round of meetings to gather suggestions about downtown improvement.

The meeting with the African business community will be at 4 p.m. today at the African Development Center, 516 Litchfield Ave. S.W.

The meeting with the Latino business community will be at 6 p.m. at the Willmar Area Multicultural Business Center, 215 Fourth St. S.W.

City and Design Center representatives will ask participants to define the central business district, discuss downtown access and other issues, make suggestions and participate in a prioritization exercise.

Meetings with government and institutional representatives and other downtown property and business owners will be Thursday.
