Dr. Paul Zollman Dec. 3, 1921 - Oct. 29, 2008

ROCHESTER -- Dr. Paul Eugene Zollman, 86, of Rochester, died Oct. 29 in Rochester.

He was born Dec. 3, 1921 in Macon, Mo., to Phillip and Kathleen Zollman. He graduated from the University of Missouri Veterinary school.

He was head of veterinary medicine at Mayo Clinic's Institute Hills Farm research center. He was a veterinarian for 41 years at Mayo Clinic and was Minnesota Veterinarian of the Year in 1990.

He married Dawn Miner on June 23, 2006. They have a summer cabin north of Willmar.

He is survived by his wife; five daughters: Mary Zollman (and husband Greg Gruenhagen) of Minneapolis, Anne Hasiuk of Bloomington, Ind., Karen Zollman of Edmonds, Wash., Paula Zollman (and husband Dana Puffer) of Rochester and Helen (and Doug) Kayser of Colbert, Wash.; one brother: John (and Mary) Zollman of Estes Park, Colo.; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his first wife: Carolyn; one brother and two sisters.
