Driver dies in I-94 crash as snowstorm hits Minn.
MINNEAPOLIS - A teenage driver was killed as an April snowstorm made a slippery mess of Twin Cities roads.
The Minnesota State Patrol says 16-year-old Jonathon Pohlen, of Houlton, Wis., was killed Thursday afternoon when he lost control on snowy Interstate 94 in eastern Minnesota, crossed over the median and collided with a truck's trailer.
The National Weather Service in Chanhassen reported 5.3 inches of snow by early evening. Cambridge north of the Twin Cities had 8.4 inches.
The storm could dump up to a foot of snow in northeastern Minnesota by Friday.
National Weather Service meteorologist Dan Effertz (EHF'-furtz) says normally the Twin Cities should see highs approaching 60 this time of year. But temperatures will only reach the 50s next week.
