Driver killed in crash north of Danube, name withheld by sheriff

OLIVIA -- The name of the driver killed in a one-vehicle rollover crash around 11:40 a.m. today is being withheld pending the notification of relatives.

According to a news release from Renville County Sheriff Scott Hable, the crash happened on County Road 1 about a quarter of a mile north of 890th Avenue, which is about six miles north of Danube.

The investigation determined that a 1989 Ford Tempo was northbound on County Road 1 and rolled into the ditch. The single occupant of the vehicle was dead at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.

Also responding to the crash were the State Patrol, Danube Police Department, Renville Police Department, Olivia Fire and Rescue, and the Olivia Ambulance Service.
