Driver killed, others injured in Sunday crash near Watson
WATSON -- The driver of a vehicle was killed and a passenger critically injured in a two-vehicle crash around 3:30 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of U.S. Highway 59/State Highway 7 and County Road 13 north of Watson.
The Minnesota State Patrol is not releasing the names of the driver or passenger pending notification of relatives. The injured passenger was airlifted from the scene to North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale. The patrol says the vehicle, a 2001 Chevy pickup, went through the stop sign at the intersection and struck a 2003 Dodge pickup that was northbound on the highway.
The driver of the Dodge, Douglas J. Tomschin, 54, of Clinton, was taken to Montevideo Hospital for treatment of broken bones. His passenger, Amanda L. Tomschin, 49, of Clinton, was also taken to Montevideo Hospital and treated and released.
