Driver seriously hurt in Highway 12 crash
KERKHOVEN -- The driver of a van involved in a two-vehicle, head-on crash around 10 a.m. Thursday east of Kerkhoven sustained serious injuries.
The name of the driver is not being released by the State Patrol. However, the Patrol says the person was westbound on U.S. Highway 12 following a snow plow, while a 2005 Freightliner M2 truck driven by David M. Evazich, 27, of Burnsville, was eastbound. Evazich reported to officers that as his vehicle came through blowing snow from the plow, the other vehicle, a 2002 Chevy Express Van, was in his lane and the vehicles collided head-on.
Evazich was not injured in the crash. The location of the crash is listed as Highway 12 near Swift County Road 39.
