Drunk driver hits two Duluth Police squad cars

DULUTH, Minn. - A drunk driver hit two stationary Duluth Police squad cars early Wednesday morning.

The officers were responding to an alarm at 2:27 a.m. at the Lake Superior Treatment Center of Minnesota when their parked vehicles were struck.

The driver hit one of the squad cars, bounced off of the vehicle and then hit the other squad car, said Public Information Officer for the Duluth Police Department, Brad Wick.

The officers were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

They are expected to be released and return to work tonight.

The 33-year-old male driver is in custody for criminal vehicular operation resulting in injury and DWI.

Police are expected to release more information later today.
