MURDOCK -- Duane Roger Henry, 73, of Murdock died Monday at his home.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Kerkhoven Lutheran Church. Burial will be held at a later date at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in St. Paul.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Kerkhoven and for one hour prior to the services at the church.
He was born Oct. 11, 1935, in Springfield to Harvey and Norma (Valentine) Henry. He grew up in Springfield and Kerkhoven and graduated from Kerkhoven High School in 1953. He continued his education at the Dunwoody College of Technology in Minneapolis. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and was a member of the American Legion post in Kerkhoven.
He married Ruth Torgeson on Aug. 27, 1960, in Cryus. They lived in Fridley until 1982, when they moved to the Murdock area. He drove truck for Red Owl for 28 years before retiring in 1990. He had also farmed since 1962.
He was a member of Kerkhoven Lutheran Church and served on the church council as vice president.
He is survived by his wife; children: Debbie Henry of Shoreview, Robin (and Kent) Fussy of Isanti, Daniel (and Erica) Henry of Murdock, Rebecca (and Joseph) Gibbs of Willmar and Diane (and Joe) Fernholz of Raymond; 16 grandchildren; and siblings: Jerry (and Ella Mae) Henry of Murdock and Darla Henry of Fountain, Colo
He was preceded in death by a brother and a grandson.
