Duane Taylor Jan. 22, 1926 - Aug. 24, 2009

BUFFALO LAKE -- Duane Earl Taylor, 83, of Buffalo Lake died Monday at Hutchinson Community Hospital.

The service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. John's Catholic Church in Hector. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Hughes Funeral Home in Hector with a 6:30 p.m. prayer service and for one hour prior to the service at the church.

He was born Jan. 22, 1926, in Boon Lake Township, Renville County, to Earl and Alva (Klawitter) Taylor. He grew up in Boon Lake Township and graduated from the Buffalo Lake High School. He served in the Army during the Korean War.

He married Lillian Lorence on Oct. 11, 1952, in Silver Lake. They lived on the family farm in Boon Lake Township and farmed until moving into Buffalo Lake. He maintained the Taylor Koopman Field in Buffalo Lake for many years.

He is survived by his wife; children: Brenda Wicks of Farmington, Susan (and David) Taylor-Meyers of Harrison Township, Mich., and Terese Taylor of Minneapolis; and two grandchildren.
