Duluth man pleads guilty to beating children with belts, cords
DULUTH, Minn. -- A Duluth man has pleaded guilty to beating five children so severely with belts and extension cords that he left permanent scars on their bodies.
Twenty-eight-year-old Jason Wiggins entered the pleas to two felony counts of malicious punishment of a child resulting in substantial bodily harm. He's to be sentenced in St. Louis County June 1.
Wiggins was accused of abusing a 13-year-old girl, an 11-year-old girl, a 9-year-old boy, a 7-year-old girl and a 4-year-old boy.
The teenage girl told her school principal that she was afraid to go home because she would be beaten.
