Dwight Felton June 6, 1951 - Aug. 17, 2009
NEW LONDON -- Dwight Carlos Felton, 58, of New London, died Monday at his home near New London.
The service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at East Norway Lake Lutheran Church in rural New London.
Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are with Johnson Funeral Home in New London.
He was born June 6, 1951, in Willmar to Carlos and Lorraine (Tangen) Felton. He grew up in Willmar and graduated from Willmar High School in 1969.
He married Valerie Rens on July 20, 1969. They later divorced.
After his schooling, he entered the Navy and served during the Vietnam War. After his discharge he returned home and continued his education at Ridgewater Technical College, receiving his degree in ag business.
He married Socorro Septien on Aug. 13, 1983, in Spicer. They lived in the New London and Spicer area where he worked as a chemical representative for Morris Co-op, Zeneca and West Central Chemical. He began work at West Central Bait in 1999 and worked until 2004, retiring due to his health.
He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his wife; children: Letitia (and Jeff) Pynes of Cambridge, Darren Felton of St. Cloud and Ryan Felton of St. Cloud; two grandchildren; siblings: Sharon (and Harlan) Meester of New London, Bruce (and Rosemary) Felton of Apache Junction, Ariz., DeeDee (and Bill) Johnson of Spicer and Janet Felton of Spicer.
