Updated: Five injured in three-vehicle crash in Willmar

ATWATER -- Earle Amandus Johnson, 96, of Atwater, died Wednesday at Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar.

The service will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Atwater. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the Atwater Funeral Home and for one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials are preferred to the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Atwater.

He was born March 5, 1912, on the family farm east of Atwater to Thomas and Elena (Nelson) Johnson. He grew up and attended school in Atwater.

He married Dorothy Miller on March 31, 1944. He was a lifelong farmer in the Atwater area. He was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, serving on the church council and on the cemetery board and as sexton of the cemetery for many years.

He is survived by his wife; a son, Randall (and Barbara) Johnson of Fort Atkinson, Wis.; three stepgrandchildren and 11 step-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by six brothers, two in infancy, and three sisters.
