Earlene E. Schultz

COSMOS -- Earlene Esther Schultz, 82, formerly of Cosmos, died Saturday at Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar.
The service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Peace Lutheran Church in Cosmos. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the church and one hour before the service at the church. Hughes Funeral Home of Hector is handling arrangements.
She was born March 22, 1927, in Grafton Township, Sibley County, to Earl and Ella (Ebent) Weispfennig. She grew up in Grafton Township until age 10 when her family moved to Cosmos. A graduate of Litchfield High School, she continued her education in a nursing program in Hutchinson and became a certified medical assistant.
She married Herbert Schultz on Nov. 14, 1954, in Cosmos. They lived on a farm near Cosmos. She worked at the Cosmos Nursing Home for 25 years, retiring in 1988. They moved to a home on Long Lake near Willmar in 2000. She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church and served as president of the ladies circle.
She is survived by her husband; daughters: Vickie Cunningham of Minneapolis and Connie (and Dean) Wallace of Willmar; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a sister: Aldys Swenson of Atwater.
She was preceded in death by several siblings.
