Early goal stands up for Waska as Lakers edge Jays

PRINSBURG -- Alex Ingersoll scored in the fifth minute for Minnewaska and that turned out to be the only goal as the Lakers shaded Central Minnesota Christian 1-0 on Tuesday in boys soccer.

Ingersoll scored on a hard shot off the hand of Bluejays' goalie Zach Zwart.

The Lakers controlled play the first half, but the Bluejays had the territorial advantage following intermission, though no one could plant a goal facing Minnewaska keeper Ethan Anderson.

The Lakers posted a 13-9 advantage in shots on goal.

CMCS is now 0-3-1 with road matches at Worthington on Thursday and at Willmar at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
