As part of a plea agreement reached in Kandiyohi County District Court, two felony charges of first-degree burglary and misdemeanor charges of domestic assault and property damage will be dismissed. He will be sentenced Dec. 30.

The charges were filed after a Kandiyohi County sheriff's deputy was called around 9 p.m. April 13 to a home in Spicer.

A woman there reported that Elmore, whom she identified as her ex-boyfriend and the father of her two children, had come from Eden Prairie to Spicer after she told him she was dating another man.

The new boyfriend was also at the home when officers arrived. She said she and Elmore began arguing in the front yard after he tried to enter the home to retrieve items he thought belonged to him.

She went inside and attempted to close the door, but Elmore entered the property.

She said Elmore took a swing at her, striking her in the chin.

Another man, who had accompanied Elmore to the property, attempted to remove him from the home after Elmore broke a window on a door and cut himself.

Officers went to Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar, where Elmore sought treatment, and interviewed him there. He told them he "just lost control" when the woman said she was dating someone else. He denied striking the woman, and said he didn't break the window on purpose and that he just wanted to get into the home to retrieve his belongings.
