LITCHFIELD -- Edgar "Popup" Marklowitz, 96, of Litchfield, died Tuesday at the Emmanuel Nursing Home in Litchfield.
The service will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Litchfield. Burial will be in Lake Ripley Cemetery in Litchfield.
Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are with Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home.
He was born Oct. 13, 1912, in Benton County to Fred and Caroline (Scoroposki) Marklowitz. He grew up on a farm in Popple Creek and received his education in Main Prairie Township.
He married Alvina "Al" Meyer on Sept. 29, 1936, in St. Augusta. They lived north of Darwin and later moved to a farm southwest of Litchfield. He was a dairy farmer, raised beef cattle and farmed crops. He was also a sales representative for Pioneer Seed for 28 years. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and the Litchfield Lions Club.
He is survived by his wife; children: LaVonne (and Hal) Huso and Ed Jr. (and Joey) Marklowitz, all of Litchfield; two grandchildren; one great-grandson; and one sister: Mata Forcier of Minneapolis.
He was preceded in death by 16 siblings.
