SPICER -- Edith B. Sweeter, 84, of Spicer died Friday at Ridgeview Living Center in Sauk Rapids.

The service will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Calvary Lutheran Church in Willmar.

Visitation will be for two hours prior to the service at the church on Monday. Arrangements are with Harvey Anderson Funeral Home and West Central Cremation Service in Willmar.

She was born Sept. 3, 1922, in Clarissa to Ernest and Minnie (Jacob) Johnson. She grew up near Clarissa, attended District 97, and graduated from Clarissa High School in 1938.

She married Percy Reder on May 3, 1941, in Clarissa. They lived in Brown County, S.D., from 1941 to 1963, and then moved to Willmar. Percy died in 1966.

She married Arlo Sweeter in 1972. They lived in rural Spicer. She worked as a cook at restaurants in the Willmar area, including Truck Haven, Puritan Café and Sveden House.

She is survived by her husband; children: Sharon (and Gary) Borg of Arden Hills, Lyle (and Dodie) Reder of Groton, S.D., Roger (and Julie) Reder of Sartell, Gladys Reder of San Francisco, Margaret (and Tom) Granroth of Moundsview, Janice (and Monte) Freidig of Petaluma, Calif., Joy (and Olie) Floyd of Hill City, S.D., Dale ( and Denise) Reder of Novato, Calif., Donna (and David) Peterson of Litchfield; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her stepchildren: Maxine Sweeter of Willmar, Doug Sweeter of Spicer, Karen Christensen of Morgan; and one sister: Vi Quist of Aberdeen, S.D.

She was preceded in death by her first husband and one brother.
