It only seems a few days ago that we stepped back from the Thanksgiving table. As “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer” played this week on network television, you knew the holiday season was upon us.
Part of the Christmas tradition is remembering the giving part, especially to those in need.
We strive to remind our readers of several local programs worthy of your support.
The Warm the Children campaign is designed to help provide warm winter clothing to children in west central Minnesota. This program, administered by the West Central Tribune, has a goal of $40,000 this year and is scheduled to provide for some 500 children this year.
The Salvation Army of Willmar is also in the midst of its annual Red Kettle campaign. This organization strives to serve the needs within Kandiyohi County and also provide aid to homeless.
The United Way of West Central Minnesota, based in Willmar, is working on its annual pledge campaign. The volunteer organization serves the citizens of Kandiyohi County and surrounding communities with multiple program and support.
Contact the programs as follows: Warm the Children at 320-235-1150; The Salvation Army at 320-235-2033; or the United Way at 320-235-1050.
We encourage you to consider a contribution to these or appropriate groups in your community. A little giving of your support will help brighten you day and help those in need.
