Lyrics from "Let It Snow":

"Oh the weather outside is frightful,

But the fire is so delightful,

And since we've no place to go,

Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow! ...'

West central Minnesota seems to relish a good snowfall and handle various weather conditions with ease.

Minnesotans overall consider themselves a hardy lot and they should. They do not waste much time complaining about too much snow.

The state's infamous Metrodome roof collapsed under the weight of a heavy snowfall and the citizens just yawned a bit. The local NFL pro team just heads out to Detroit to play a scheduled game one day later.

In Philadephia, it is a different story. The region has a heavy snowfall forecast and they postpone an NFL game. Then they play the scheduled game two days later in the original stadium. They did not even have to find a replacement stadium.

Minnesotans are a tough weather people, with suitable Nordic heritage. After a winter or two, newcomers to Minnesota become baptized in our winters and develop a suitable Nordic temperament.

Wednesday's warmth started melting those icy eaves and tall snowbanks. Today's weather likely will become a fog and freezing drizzle kind of day, with a little snow mixed in.

By Friday, the weather will turn to significant snow and sub-zero wind chills, with possible blizzard conditions in west and northwestern Minnesota and the Dakotas.

Minnesotans complain? An uff-da or two is about all one may hear.

New Yorkers and Pennsylvanians are still whining about their last snowstorm over the weekend. Maybe they should just all buy a new shovel and get to work shoveling their street.

Minnesotans will go out and help clear their neighbors' driveway when help is neededc. Many just blow or shovel their own driveways.

Minnesotans do love a good snowfall. They even appreciate a good blizzard, especially when the blizzard just stays in the Dakotas.

"... It doesn't show signs of stopping,

And I've bought some corn for popping,

The lights are turned way down low,

Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!" ...
