Clark, 22, died Oct. 4 in Shekhabad, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when insurgents attacked his unit with small arms fire and rocket-propelled grenades. He was a member of the 57th Engineering Company based at Fort Bragg, N.D.

The plane carrying Clark's body is scheduled to arrive about 12:30 p.m. today at the Willmar Municipal Airport. His body will be escorted by military, family and law enforcement through Willmar and Spicer to New London to Johnson Funeral Home.

To his parents, Rick and Tracy Clark, we offer our condolences on the behalf of west central Minnesota and the nation for your loss.

To his sister, Aleah (Clark) Auge, the rest of his family and his friends, we are sorry for the loss of your brother, uncle, cousin, nephew or friend.

To his fellow soldiers serving in the 57th Engineering Company in Afghanistan and elsewhere, we know these words cannot ease the pain of losing your fellow brother in arms. Please know west central Minnesota has both Clark and you in our thoughts and prayers.

To Pfc. Clark, we thank you for your service to west central Minnesota as a young man and Eagle Scout and to your nation in the National Guard and the U.S. Army.

We encourage citizens to gather today in respect along the procession route through Willmar, Spicer and London for this fallen soldier.

Welcome home Pfc. Clark.
