Editorial: We’ve had just about enough of this stuff
If you looked out the window this morning when you picked up this newspaper, you likely were not dancing at the thought of new wet snow today.
Well, you have plenty of company in the anti-snow crowd of west central Minnesota.
The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for today through 10 a.m. Friday, with a forecasted 6 to 8 inches of snow to fall across parts of west central Minnesota. Then the winds are expected to pick up this afternoon, gusting at times to 35 mph.
This is a significant snow storm, which could make travel dangerous and treacherous.
We encourage everyone to travel safely today and use caution if you are traveling.
The warmth that has occurred in west central Minnesota has help thaw the ground somewhat, so this snow moisture could result in some positive soil moisture infiltration.
Yet as a central Wisconsin church sign and another in New York recently stated, “Whoever is praying for snow, please stop.”
All the spring athletes agree. Those anxious golfers agree. The farmers agree. The construction workers agree. The lawn and garden store managers agree. And every mother waiting to send their kid outside agrees.
No more snow.
So if you get snowed in today, it might be time to join a collective prayer for a good week of sunshine.
