Elda M. Rebers

ECHO -- Elda Maria Rebers, 94, of Echo, died Sunday at Parkview Home in Belview.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Echo. Burial will be in the Echo Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today, with a 7 p.m. prayer service, at the Sunset Funeral Home in Echo and one hour before the service Wednesday at the church.
She was born Dec. 4, 1914, in Echo Township, Yellow Medicine County, to Nick and Amalie (Adams) Schwartz. She grew up near Echo and attended country school.
On April 12, 1938, she married Victor Rebers in Echo. They farmed near Echo until moving to the Hazel Run area in 1943. They returned in 1950 to the Echo area where they continued to farm. She entered the Parkview Home in Belview shortly after her husband's death on July 18, 1998.
She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Echo and had been active with the quilting group.
She is survived by seven children: Fern Schjenken of Belview, Elaine (and Gordon) Pederson of Woodbury, Rolland (and Judy) Rebers of Echo, Dennis (and Carol) Rebers of Somerset, Wis., Diane (and Keith) Brekke of Mankato, and Bob Rebers and Brian Rebers, both of Echo; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a brother: Ervin (and June) Schwartz of Cottonwood.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her son-in-law: Richard Schjenken; two brothers; and one sister.
