MORRIS -- Ella Helen Koosmann, 88, of Morris died Wednesday at West Wind Village in Morris.
The service will be at 10:30 a.m. today at Faith Lutheran Church in Morris. Burial will be in Summit Cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church. Arrangements are by Pedersen Funeral Home of Morris.
She was born Feb. 15, 1920, in Glenwood City, Wis., to William and Ida (Sarinske) Jeske. At an early age, she moved to St. Paul to live with her Aunt Anna. She trained as a beautician.
She married Wilbert Koosmann on Sept. 23, 1939. They moved to Horton Township where they farmed. Wilbert died in February 1959. Ella lived on the farm and began working at Morris Creamery and later as a cook at the University of Minnesota-Morris until she retired. She babysat for area families. She moved to Jackson in 2004 and returned to Morris in 2007.
She is survived by four children: Donald (and Chris) Koosmann of Detroit Lakes, Yvonne (and Johnny) Giesbrecht of Rosthern, Saskatchewan, Canada, Kathy (and Danny) Joyce of Jackson, and Willie (and Brenda) Koosmann of Boise, Idaho; daughter-in-law: Connie Koosmann of St. Cloud; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and three siblings: Alvin (and Helen) Jeske, Ida Ohman, and Orville (and Louise) Jeske, all of Glenwood City, Wis.
She was preceded in death by her husband; one son: Curt; five brothers; and three sisters.
