Ellen G. Colestock Sept. 29, 1915 - March 4, 2009
MONTEVIDEO -- Ellen Grace Colestock, 93, formerly of Montevideo, died Wednesday at Grace Point Crossing in Cambridge.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the United Methodist Church in Montevideo. Burial will be in the Maynard Lutheran Cemetery.
Visitation will be Sunday afternoon and evening with the family present from 4 to 6 p.m. with a prayer service at 5:30 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo.
She was born Sept. 29, 1915, in Hecla, S.D., to Robert and Ruth (Storts) Pearson. She grew up and graduated from Hecla High School in 1934.
She married Norman Colestock on June 5, 1937, in Hecla. They lived in Miller, S.D., Lake Preston, S.D. and White, S.D., before moving to Maynard in 1946. She was a member of Maynard Presbyterian Church and a member of the ladies aid. She worked for a short time at Budger's Café and provided child day care. They moved to Montevideo in 1985. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, the Chippewa County Historical Society and the Montevideo Golf Club. She moved to Cambridge in 2001 and was living at Grace Point Crossing.
She is survived by four children: Shirlee (and Robert) Kingdon of Roseville, Donna (and John) Erlandson of Cambridge, Barbara (and Michael) Antonson of Anoka and Kay Bill of Vadnais Heights; a son-in-law: Greg Quillin of Vista, Calif.; 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and two brothers: Robert Pearson of Plymouth, Neb., and Roy Pearson of Sacramento, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 2001; children: Nancy Quillin in 2006 and William Colestock Jr. in infancy; and two sisters.
