CYRUS -- Elsie Mickelson, 87, of Cyrus died Tuesday at the Glenwood Retirement Home in Glenwood.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cyrus. Burial will be in Cyrus South Cemetery, rural Cyrus.
Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Friday at Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris and one hour prior to the service at the church.
She was born Aug. 19, 1921, in New Solem Township, Marshall County, to Thom and Annie (Haugen) Holten. She grew up on a farm near Viking and attended Columbus Country School in New Solem Township.
On Sept. 29, 1956, she married Otto Mickelson near Thief River Falls. They lived in the Cyrus area where they farmed and raised dairy cows. She also raised chickens. They retired from farming in 1972 but remained on the farm. Otto died in 1996. She remained on the farm until 2007 when she moved to the Glenwood Retirement Village.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she was a member of the women's group.
She is survived by two sons: LeRoy Mickelson and Vernon Mickelson, both of Cyrus.
She was preceded in death by her husband.
