Enforcement effort snags a 128-mph speeder in county

WILLMAR -- A motorist racing through Kandiyohi County at 128 miles per hour was among those ticketed during extra enforcement of traffic speed limits statewide during the month of July.

The statewide campaign resulted in 27,638 motorists ticketed, according to the Minnesota Department of Public Safety.

There were 253 drivers ticketed for going more than 90 mph, and 26 -- including the motorist in Kandiyohi County -- cited for exceeding 100 mph.
