ST. CLOUD -- Ervin C. "Erv" Radunz, 79, of Sauk Rapids died Friday at the Minneapolis Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church in St. Cloud. Burial will be at Ripley Cemetery, Litchfield, with military honors.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud and one hour prior to the service. Thursday at the church. The Sauk Rapids American Legion Post 254 will pray at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials are preferred.
He was born April 1, 1929, in Greenleaf Township, Meeker County, to Frank and Fern (Davis) Radunz. He grew up in Greenleaf Township, attended rural schools and Litchfield High School. He served in the United States Army.
He married Rose Marie Anderson on Aug. 28, 1949, in Litchfield. He was a Standard Oil agent in Litchfield until moving to St. Cloud in 1964. He and his family owned and operated Erv's Fuel Stop on Highway 10 in St. Cloud until 1978. They opened a second truck stop in Hasty on Interstate 94 and Radson Inc., a bulk oil distributorship in Annandale and Avon. After retiring in 1992, he drove school bus for the Brainerd and Sauk Rapids-Rice school districts.
He was a member of the Minneapolis Shriners, Clearwater Lions, the Sauk Rapids American Legion Post 254 and the Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife; children: Sheila (and John) Bichler of Albertville, Steve (and Mary K.) Radunz of Sartell, Tim (and Mary L.) Radunz of Sartell, Mike (and Katy) Radunz of Wahkon, Mark "Toody" (and Tamara) Radunz of Becker and Jeff Radunz of Becker; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother.
