Ervin M. Eickhoff

BELGRADE -- Ervin M. Eickhoff, 83, of Belgrade, died Wednesday at the Paynesville Area Hospital in Paynesville.
The service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Belgrade. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Johnson Funeral Home in Belgrade, with a rosary at 5:30 p.m. and a parish prayer service at 7 p.m., and visitation continues one hour before the service Monday at the church.
He was born Oct. 24, 1925, in St. Francis to William and Augusta (Hoppe) Eickhoff. He grew up in Belgrade where he attended school. He then worked on the family farm. He served in the U.S. Army from 1952 to 1954 during the Korean conflict. After he returned home, he worked in Minneapolis for a few years before returning to Belgrade in 1955 and purchasing the Mobil station.
He married Mary Jane Stern on June 22, 1957, in Belgrade, where they lived. He worked for LSM for 13 years and later Menards, retiring in 1988.
He was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. He helped with Veterans of Foreign Wars projects and was a member of the VFW Honor Guard.
He is survived by his wife; children: Steven (and Marilyn) Eickhoff of Moorhead, Barbara (and David) Hess of Paynesville, Mark (and Laurie) Eickhoff of Watertown, and Amy (and Tom) Porwoll of Rockville; seven grandchildren; and siblings: Dick (and Sandra) Eickhoff of Bloomington and Tony (and Laura) Eickhoff of Paynesville.
He was preceded in death by four siblings.
