Ervin W. Jacobson May 2, 1927 - March 31, 2009

HANCOCK -- Ervin William Jacobson, 81, of Hancock died Tuesday at the Innovis Health Community Hospital in Fargo, N.D.

The service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Morris Evangelical Free Church. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery in Hancock.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. at the Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris and for one hour prior to services at the church.

He was born May 2, 1927, in Moore Township, Stevens County, to Lloyd and Eva (Miller) Jacobson. He grew up on the family farm, attended country school and then worked for area farmers.

He married Arlene Sprouls in 1945. They bought a farm in Moore Township and he farmed.

He married Elaine Anderson Burns on Jan. 13, 1990, and they lived on the farm until 2002 when they retired and moved into Hancock. He was a member of the Evangelical Free Church in Morris where he attended Bible study. He spent the past 12 winters in Arizona.

He is survived by his wife; one son: Arnold (and Janice) Jacobson of Norwood-Young America; stepchildren: Jack (and Sandy) Burns of Benson and Judy (and Gary) Stenson of Arvada, Colo.; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; nine stepgrandchildren; 14 stepgreat-grandchildren; three brothers: Alvin (and Myrna) Jacobson of Benson, Richard (and Marietta) Jacobson of St. Louis Park and Delbert (and Pat) Jacobson of Farmington.

He was preceded in death by his first wife and two brothers.
