Estella 'Betty' Zuber Sept. 10, 1915 - Oct. 24, 2008

GLENWOOD -- Estella Elizabeth "Betty" Zuber, 93, of Glenwood died Friday at the Glenwood Retirement Village.

The service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home Chapel in Glenwood.

Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service. Memorials to Glenwood Retirement Village are preferred.

She was born Sept. 10, 1915, in Pisgah, Iowa, to Volney and Gertrude (Michael) Boyle. She attended St. Mary's College in Omaha, Neb., and Cedar Falls Technical College in Cedar Falls, Iowa. She taught grade school in Tama, Iowa.

She married Ervin Zuber in 1939. They lived in many states and towns and returned each summer to their home in Glenwood. They founded E.F. Zuber Engineering and Sales, where she served as the chief financial officer and Erv invented, manufactured and sold new equipment. She was a pianist, singer and dancer, and they were founding members of the Lakeside Dance Club in Glenwood.

She is survived by her children: Loene (and Bob) Bowlin of Fort Worth, Texas, Chan (and Nancy) Zuber of St. Louis Park, and Jeri (and Wylie) Zuber of Minneapolis; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1996 and one sister.
