Esther Gieseke Sept. 20, 1921 - Nov. 21, 2009
SPICER -- Esther Gieseke, 88, of Spicer, died Saturday at her home.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at United Methodist Church in Willmar. Burial will be in Cloverleaf Cemetery in Willmar.
Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service Monday at the church. Arrangements are with Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar.
She was born Sept. 20, 1921, near Raymond to Claus and Kate (Walters) Wiegmann. She attended country school through eighth grade. She worked on her parents' farm.
She married Milton Gieseke on Sept. 14, 1948. They lived in Willmar before moving to a home on Green Lake in 1979. She worked for Willmar Cookie Company for 26 years, retiring in 1987. She was a member of United Methodist Church in Willmar and taught Sunday school.
She is survived by her daughter: Lynae (and Don Dickerson) Gieseke of Eagan; daughter-in-law: Nyla Gieseke of Kandiyohi; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and siblings: Gladys Freese of Tacoma, Wash., Bernice Haats of Willmar, Betty (and Marlin) Kroona of Spicer, and Henry (and Lucille) Wiegmann of Cody, Wyo.
She was preceded in death be her husband in 1993; a son: Larry in 2008; three brothers; two sisters; and two siblings in infancy.
