Ethel L. Gundberg June 8, 1921 - Nov. 24, 2008
WILLMAR -- Ethel Linnea Gundberg, 87, of Willmar, died Monday at Rice Care Center in Willmar.
The service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Assembly of God in Willmar. Burial will be in the Cokato City Cemetery.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to service at the church. Memorials are preferred to Rice Hospice. Arrangements are by Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar.
She was born on June 8, 1921, in Chicago to Emil and Edith (Svensson) Gundberg. When she was young, she moved with her family to Kandiyohi where she attended school in District 94. Her family moved to a farm near Raymond. She graduated from Willmar High School in 1939. She continued her education at Augustina Hospital Nursing School in Chicago.
She worked in Chicago and Minneapolis as a nurse and later for the Cokato Ambulance Service before retiring. In 1969, Ethel received her bachelor of liberal arts degree from University of Wisconsin-Superior. She was a member of Minnesota Retired Nurses and had been involved with hospice training. In September, she became a resident of Rice Care Center.
She was a member of the Assembly of God in Cokato and Willmar. She was active with senior group and Bible study.
She is survived by her sister-in-law: Delores Gundberg of Tempe, Ariz.; nephew: William Gundberg Jr, of Tempe, Ariz.; and her niece: Shirley Gundberg of Chandler, Ariz.
She was preceded in death by a brother.
