Ethel V. Starr March 3, 1917 - April 17, 2009

REDWOOD FALLS -- Ethel Viola Starr, 92, of rural Redwood Falls died Friday at home.

The service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at First Presbyterian Church in Redwood Falls. Burial will be in the Redwood Falls Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Nelson-Martin Funeral Service in Redwood Falls and one hour before the service at the church.

She was born March 3, 1917, in Holt to Oliver and Nellie (Ellestad) Nohre. She attended school in Holt and graduated from Thief River Falls High School in 1935.

She married Robert Starr on June 4, 1939, in Holt. They farmed in Delhi for 55 years. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Delhi where she served as pianist, sang in the women's quartet and was active in ladies aid for 67 years. Since 2006, she was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Redwood Falls.

She is survived by her husband; children: Sharon (and Thomas) Hollatz, Dale (and Sandy) Starr and Faythe (and Butch) Amberg, all of Redwood Falls; eight grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and one brother: Harold Nohre.

She was preceded in death by one sister.
